What happens when it rains heavily in Pune?

Things change in Pune when it rains heavily. Water logs, worse traffic jams, doomed transport system, stranded people at bus stands and much more.

So, today after a long time it rained heavily. I love rain, even though I knew it will bring problems for me in a while the thought of it didn’t stop me from enjoying the drops that showered after a long time. I was working in my cubicle when it started raining and soon it filled the way with large amounts of water flowing aggressively downhill.

Here is a snapshot from my desk.

Image: And above they are two boys. Not a couple. :-D

And here’s a video

and one more

Some more pics from inside Infosys Campus after the rain,

Leaving from office. This is the status outside. So many people standing to get either a bus or auto.

Now see people fighting to get into an already loaded bus, :-D

Did you just think of getting a cab, then this is for you…

Image: Screenshot from OLA and Uber app.

I tried getting a cab from OLA as well as Uber. None of them had cabs available at that moment around that area.

Ultimately got into a bus which would lead me half way, from where I can walk 1.7KM to reach my destination.
See the traffic behind us. The same is in front of us. Bus moving at a speed of a bullock cart. :-D

Image: Clicked from the emergency window at the end of bus. It was dirty so could not get a clear shot.

So most of us in Pune are frustrated of bad conductors in PMPML buses. Not this one. Great person. Great conductor. He earned my respect.

Image: The good conductor.

Image: Here’s another shot.

A very jolly person, talking very sweetly with the passengers. Helping out people regarding bus stops as people are running in havoc to catch any bus possible. Asking the people on door to be safe while the bus was being rubbed by the hanging twig of trees beside the road. And also advertising that there are very less buses available due to rain, and so they board this bus. :-D I was amused when he made an announcement asking if someone needed change of 500, the person would get the change in hundreds, fifties or tens as well… :-D funny guy. Had to photograph him. And so I did. ;-)

Reached Hinjewadi chowk. Got down the bus. Clicked the conductor’s photo. But forgot to ask his name. my bad…

1.7 KMs to go… Have to walk so long…

In my way. Bought some Jalebi’s… It’s good to award yourself for doing what I was doing. Eheh… :-D

Well… At last I reached my room. And there was a surprise awaiting. No electricity. :-D
Well, again not a problem. My mobile phone’s torch proved to be enough for now.
So, sometimes life sucks at its best, but do not let it suck out your soul like a dementor does in Harry Potter :-D. In fact boo it away by enjoying in whatever it throws at you. :-D I did, its your turn now. *wink* *wink* ;-)
